Department of Automation Engineering And Institute of Mechatronoptic Systems

Highly skilled workers in systems integration are the employees most needed by the Central Taiwan Science and Technology Industrial Park. Our department has the faculty and the facilities needed to train students in preparation for jobs such as these. The following are our educational goals: 1. To teach the theory behind automated control systems and computer-numerical controlled (CNC) control systems, culminating in a capstone project. The application of this theory and the use of industry-level control systems throughout the curriculum will prepare students for the needs of industry. 2. To cultivate electrical-mechanical systems integration abilities by creating an e-learning environment that will train students for licensing in electrical-mechanical integration. 3. To strengthen students’ education by combining academic learning and industry cooperation in work and research. 4. To follow the development of new technology and adopt nanotechnology and nanoscale precision measuring as foci of our curriculum and research, allowing us to feed newfound knowledge to industry. 5. To broaden our optoelectric program and add technology management, the latter of which will keep industry efficient and on the cutting-edge of management techniques. 6. As the first graduate program at Chienkuo Technology University, to lead CIT into the top tiers of education. As research into education and industry demands change, we will adapt our education to match these. Course design must be approved by the department, as well as industry and student representatives.
